So I missed a couple of days…
Charleston was quick in and out. I got great footage of the Holocaust memorial there as well as a good cold open for that sequence. I decided to not stay in Charleston because I was still feeling the after effects of Charlottesville. So I drove a couple of hours out to Summerville. Nice hotel with wicked cool benches made out of old reclaimed doors. I will be making one of this this summer.
Tornados and heavy rain in the area I was planning on going to so I might have been stranded but it all cleared up.
So I decided to alter my plans. I was closer to Greenville than Atlanta so I reached out to the Rabbi to see if he could see me Tuesday or Wed? Then I would go there first then to SPLC.
At the end of the day it didn’t matter. He couldn’t change his schedule and the people I needed to talk to SPLC were not there this week. So another change of plans, go to Atlanta as originally planned and see Sean at FFG on Tuesday or Wed.
I got to my hotel and it was in a pretty shady neighborhood and the hotel its elf was pretty skeezy. I didn’t feel like my gear would be safe in the car in that parking lot with a number if SKells hanging around. So I checked in and then out. Got a refund and didn’t get charged for not staying there. I drove about twenty minutes to Dekalb and found a nice Hampton Inn and an amazing Fried Chicken dinner (including fried gizzards and livers )
Going to see Sean at noon and I am brining lunch from a local ribs place.
After that its south to Mitch and Florida.
I put an ad on Mandy for a researcher. Research is not my strong suit and the amount of news footage and media I need for this movie is seriously out my depths. I also Reached out to Billy Corben, a Miami Indie Filmmaker who had some anti-Semitic stuff happen to him. Waiting to hear back.
Now we are up to date.
