End of a long long day.
I had to bail out of Charlottesville. The aura, the vibe of the place was making me physically ill. That has never happened to me before. I am begining to realize that part of the documentary is my personal journey making it. The whole story is personal and as I get deeper into the Hate and intolerance and anti-semitism that I am recording in my film. It is definitely taking its toll on my psyche. Much more than I ever imagined it would.
I headed down to Petersburg Battlefield to visit the crater, I thought that would make me feel better, but it didn’t. I shot some Charlottesville wrap up video in the park I think it was pretty poignant.
Drove another hour or so and got a hotel in Emporia VA. Nice people. TV doesn’t work. They are giving me a break on the hotel room.
Gonna hit the road early to make up some time down to Charleston.
