Charlie Spickler is a Brooklyn NY based Filmmaker. After ten years as a theatrical lighting designer, Charlie directed his first short film “Whacked” in 1997. Whacked garnered a number of festival awards and was picked up for distribution by “Big Film Shorts”

Over the next twenty five years Charlie has written , produced and directed a number of Feature Films, Documentaries, Pilots and Music videos. 

Charlie founded Reel Brooklyn Films in 2012 to specifically tell New York City stories.

In 2012 Charlie made RESCUE! BROOKLYN, a documentary film about Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Windsor Terrace Brooklyn. The film was selected by the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival to be it's opening night screening. RESCUE! Brooklyn is being distributed by Adler and Associates Entertainment and is currently available for purchase and rental on Amazon Prime.

in 2020 Charlie completed his documentary film about "folk icon" Jack Hardy and the Songwriter's Exchange, "BARD OF THE VILLAGE". A celebration of the man, his music and the effect he had on the New York City for decades. It is available on YouTube video.

2021 Charlie completed, "Trumpism & the American Jewish Community". An in depth look at the rise of Anti-Semitism and Anti- Semitic events under the Trump administration and the 30% of of the Jewish community who voted for and supported him despite his culture of hate and intolerance. “Trumpism & the American Jewish Community" is currently being distributed by Adler and Associates Entertainment and available on Amazon Prime.

In 2024 Charlie began a new documentary film project, Rising Tides - Climate Change and the End of the Peconic Bay Scallops. Rising Tides is a documentary film that explores the terrible toll Climate Change is taking on the Atlantic seaboard’s commercial fishing industry, the bayman, their families and the local economies. The film highlights the science of climate change and sea rise as well as the culture of misinformation and climate denial that is being funded by Big Oil and Big Coal. The film will be released before the 2024 presidential election.
